Aye, yi, yi, yi…

First off, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the U.S. Now that I think about it, with the way I update, Merry Christmas, Happy Yule, Happy New Year, and whatever else might come next that I won’t have time to post about.

No, I haven’t forgotten about my website, or updating my fanfiction or any of the other things that I might or might not have talked about here. I’ve been doing a hell of a lot, just none of it really pertaining to or on the front-side of this site.

First and foremost, I’ve been back-end coding like crazy the new Read as Written site. It’s officially launched. The story is being written, and YOU, as a member, could influance how it goes. If you like drama, romance, angst, sinking boats and very unusual boat “mascots,” go join the site! (Note: All this can change at any moment, so just like a TV drama, I reccomend watching now or you might be lost!)

After that, I’ve been working on the Alien Dice Radio Drama. I’m now, in essence, the main writer of the scripts. I’ve also landed a bigger role in the actual drama part. I’m not telling who until that episode airs, but it’s gonna be good! The second season has started airing, so turn up your speakers or put on your headphones and give it a listen.

Finally, I’ve started working with Gregory Lemon, a fellow ADRD actor and local podcaster. We had a long talk about podcasting last week and I think I have a few ideas of what I’m going to do as far as a podcast. So, yeah, you get to hear more of me soon in a not-computer type way.

As an aside project, I attempted NaNoWriMo this year…and failed. Twenty-seven days into November and I’m still at a zero word count. Unless I can pound out 50,000 words in three days, I’m going to call this year a loss. Next year, though, I’m going in with confidence and a few novel ideas ready to go. No absolute cold turkey next year. Nuh-uh.

I’ve been trying to think of other ways to draw people to my sites. I don’t want viewers for viewers-sake, but because I want to turn this into how I make my living. I love what I do. I love writing and I love making art and I love voice acting.

I was trained to be an artist, that’s what I know. I know it’s hard, and I know it’s one of those long, rough roads type thing. But after years of working for “The Man” (or, in my case, “The Mouse”), I realized that I’m not built to be an office worker. I push back too hard, and apparently scare too many people. Hopefully making this change means that I can scare up some cash so I can continue being who I am, and not force myself into that square peg-hole when I’m a triangle or some other not-square shape.
